Winter holiday in Osttirol: skiing and much more besides!
Do you prefer action, fun, and excitement or gentle exercise and peace in the snow? Luckily for you, on a winter holiday in Osttirol, you don’t have to decide: here, you can enjoy both. Young and old can immerse themselves in skiing fun in the Obertilliach-Golzentipp family ski resort, which can be easily reached on foot, while peace seekers will find off-piste bliss during cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or tobogganing. And with its rustic houses and farms and light-bedecked advent decorations, the village centre of Obertilliach is particularly picturesque at this time of year.
The Obertilliach-Golzentipp family ski resort is just a few minutes’ walk away and is a secret tip for families and skiing newbies.
This is not only the training facility for the world’s top cross-country skiers and biathletes, but also a paradise for amateur athletes. If you’re a biathlon fan, why not have a go yourself?
Whether it’s the Reiterkarspitze, Spitzköfele, Hochspitz, or Hoher Bösring – plenty of idyllic ski tours begin in Obertilliach. The reward? An awe-inspiring panoramic view!
The Gailweg circular hike is simply idyllic in winter. Here, you have a fantastic view over our snow-clad, historic village.
Head up on the 10-seater cable car (fee payable) or on foot to Connyalm restaurant and then: ready, set, go! Toboggans are available for hire at the mountain station.
Countless snowshoe hikes await you in the valley. Our tip: the hike over the Kutteschupfen to Golzentipp, which takes about 2 hours.
